DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

I provide affordable mobile firewood processing--bringing professional equipment directly to your location. You supply and load your logs onto the four-strand deck, and I handle all operation of the processor.

​The machine is a Dyna S16, powered by a  Caterpillar diesel engine driving multiple hydraulic pumps. It can produce 2-4 cords per hour, depending on your desired firewood length, as well as the size, cleanliness, and condition of the logs provided.

This service is designed to save you time, money, and physical strain. 

Pricing typically averages $40-$60 per cord, though billing is based on hourly rates.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY

Customers are responsible for supplying the logs, selecting and preparing the processing location, and loading the logs onto the processor deck.

Common loading equipment includes tractors or skid steers with pallet forks or grapples; excavators are also suitable.

LOG SIZE REQUIREMENTS

Logs may range in length from 5' to 24' with an optimal length between 12' and 20'. Acceptable diameters range from 4 inches up to a maximum of 20 inches, with 7-16 inches being ideal.

Logs do not need to be perfectly straight; a moderate curve-up to about 1 foot-is generally acceptable. For best results, keep logs as clean as possible and avoid dragging them through mud. All limbs should be trimmed flush with the surface of the log. Small knots up to a couple of inches long can usually pass through the processor, but they increase the chance of jams or slower processing.
